Watch our video guide below for useful tips & tricks on how to choose the right coat or size for your dog (for English, turn on the subtitles).
SWEATER
JUMPPA POMPPA
Care-free sweater that fits comfortably and warms from head to tail. Perfect for everyday use. Jumppa Pomppa is designed to be used as-is or as a middle layer under another Pomppa coat. The flexible sweater is worn over the head and doesn’t need to be adjusted around the dog.
Colours available for 2020/2021: pink, mint, sky, purple, graphite, choco & papaya
Jumppa Pomppa sweater is perfect to be used during a warm-up & cool-down for dog sports in a non-heated training facility. Having a dog waiting in a cold environment during breaks in training is guarantee for muscle spasms, etc. You want to keep their muscles warm for a longer period of time and cool-down gradually.
For dogs with no undercoat and less body fat you can use Jumppa as a basic thermo layer to wear under another Pomppa coat.
Jumppa Pomppa has no buckles & can be perfectly combined with a harness. However, keep in mind that it might not be the best option for senior dogs with reduced joint mobility – putting on & off might become uncomfortable for these dogs.
Choosing the right size
Never choose a size based on another coat that you already own for your dog. First, measure your dog & then choose the size according the size chart. The sizes of Jumppa correspond to back lengths. If your dog is between 2 sizes, you can choose a larger size for a female to ensure better coverage at the back. However, choose the smaller size for males, for dogs who walk with their tail up most of the time and for slim dogs. If the chest part fits rather loose, the sweater will not hold your dog warm.
On the other hand, if your dog has thick fur (e.g. sheltie) or is strongly built (e.g. pitbull terrier), the sweater will likely stretch to the sides. In this case it might be usefull to choose a larger size than the measured back length.
Measuring your dog
When measuring, your dog needs to be in standing position, back bone as straight as possible. Measurements are taken firmly from the dog. If a dog has thick fur, it should be considered by leaving a bit of space in measurements.
BACK – Measure back length from neck to base of the tail. The starting point in the neck is in the confluence of neck and back columns.
NECK – The circumference of the neck is measured from the same point as the beginning of the back measurement. This dimension is only used for JumppaPomppa.
CHEST – The circumference of the chest is measured at the widest point of the dog’s chest.
WAIST – The circumference of the waist is measured behind the chest from the narrowest point of the dog
Dressing the coat
Put your hand through the collar and take hold of the nose
Hold the nose and pull the sweater over the head
Put your hand through the leg opening and lift the paw through it. Repeat for the other leg.
Pull the shirt to the base of the tail.
Place the back on the thighs.
Ready!
Please make sure the tail curve reaches easily to the base of the tail. This will ensure the shirt fits properly on the dog’s thighs and provides maximum warmth.
Jumppa Pomppa sweater can be washed at 30 degree. Do not spin. Do not iron.
